FEATURES OF PROJECT
There are various features of our project. It can offer number of advantages to the user. Our project has some of the most countable features that have mentioned below:
- ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The conventional cruise control was capable only to maintain a set speed by accelerating or decelerating the vehicle. Adaptive cruise control devices are capable of assisting the driver to keep a safe distance from the preceding vehicle by controlling the engine throttle and brake according to the sensor data about the vehicle. Most of the systems use lidar and sonar. Controller includes the digital signal processing modules and micro-controller chips specially designed for actuating motor and brake.
- WORKING OF ACC
ACC works by detecting the distance and speed of the vehicles ahead by using a sonar system .The time taken by the transmission and reception is the key of the distance measurement while the shift in frequency of the reflected beam by doppler effect is measured to know the speed. According to this the motor of the car start and stops with different levels of pwm.
- SPEED CONTROL
The car controls its speed hence avoiding need of manually
fasten and slowdown speed of car. Used sonar sensor for doing this task. In the picture to the left you can see that sonar is protected with thermocol sheet.
- OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE
The car automatically senses the hurdles and obstacles
coming in its way, and avoids damage by applying automatic brakes defined in
its software.
- MANUAL
Manual operation permits the driver to switch off automatic system and drive manually.
- GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM
GPS provides coordinates to the car and hence by using complete control algorithm (defined in its software) car calculate its destination and reach their, this feature is what making it unmanned.
- WEIGHT
Weights handle up to 25 kilograms.
